Whether you are a regular attendee of First Baptist or a friend we invite you to join us! Our desire is to help women grow in their faith and in their walk with the Lord.  We want to help you build friendships and to have something to look forward to.  We are looking forward to meeting you!

Women’s Ministries Coordinator

Ministry Purpose

  • To encourage and strengthen fellowship among all the women of our church.
  • To develop personal spiritual growth.
  • To stimulate interest and concern for each other.
  • To cultivate an outreach and missionary spirit among our women.

Missions Offerings:

We take an offering for missions at Women’s Ministries events. We have three areas that we support:
First Baptist Missionaries
North Central Assoc. WMF
North American Baptist WMF

 

UPCOMING EVENT

October 30, 2010 - “Lunch/Brunch with a ND author” Roxanne Henke Roxanne will speak about “Facing Fears and Following Dreams” and “Friendships”

Cost: $15, includes brunch

Roxanne Henke’s first novel, After Anne, was selected as Christianbook.com’s Favorite Book of 2002. Her subsequent seven books (Finding Ruth, Becoming Olivia, Always Jan, With Love, Libby, and The Secret of Us) have appeared on a Bestseller list. This fall she was awarded the Harold Schafer Alumni Leadership Award from the University of Mary. In addition to writing, Roxy also speaks and teaches at conferences and events across the nation on the topics of friendship,
depression, achieving goals, and writing. Roxanne is also a columnist for North Dakota Living magazine. She writes from her home in rural North Dakota, where she lives with her husband and an annoyingly-friendly dog. She has two adult daughters who are also friendly…but not annoying! Two wonderful sons-in-law have been added to their family.

Bible Study

Morning Study: Starts Tuesday, September 7Bible Study

Time:    Tuesdays, 9:00 - 11:00am

Place:  First Baptist Church - Downstairs Lounge

This Fall we will be studying Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow.  Ever worry about your children, spouse, money, career???  Come join us as we discover how to free ourselves from anxiety and find contentment in God.  We meet Tuesday mornings at 9am beginning on September 7th.  Please sign up at the Women’s Ministries Table in the foyer.  Childcare is provided.

White Cross Circle  

Time:  First Thursday of the month - 1:00 - 3:00pm

Focus of White Cross Circle: God and Missions

Prepare much-needed items for hospitals and medical work in Cameroon, as well as other needy areas of the world.

Activities of White Cross Circle

We have a time of sharing, caring, and fellowshipping together as we cut surgical squares and roll bandages. We also sew baby jackets, diapers, and blankets for the dear newborns in Cameroon – a gift to the new moms. We have updates on our missionaries and pray for their requests. We do have lunchtime too. Come and join us! All are welcome!  If you are unable to come but would like to help sew some projects please call Lois Kankovsky at 838-0405.

Special Project      Special Project

Filling shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Project. These gift-filled shoe boxes bring joy and hope to needy children around the world
